About

AIM is the national UK body helping all types of heritage organisation prosper and connecting, supporting and representing independent museums and galleries.

AIM provides a thriving network for the independent sector, based on a practical approach and sharing of expertise. Our membership ranges from voluntarily run community organisations to some of the largest museums in the country and includes galleries, historic houses, heritage organisations, including ships and historic railways as well as museum consultants and commercial suppliers.

We provide a regular news service, the AIM Bulletin magazine, an annual conference, workshops, advice, grants and projects for our members. We are regularly consulted by policy makers and  funders on issues that matter to our members. AIM is run by a Council of practicing museum professionals. AIM offers an independent viewpoint based on operational and business experience of running successful enterprises.

Visit our website at http://www.aim-museums.co.uk where you can join AIM and sign up for our monthly e-news.

The AIM blogs are mostly posted by Sassy Hicks, Membership, Marketing & Projects Manager. If you have suggestions for things to include in the blog please email them to sassy@aim-museums.co.uk
