Museums and heritage organisations across the UK are being encouraged to let their younger volunteers and visitors take charge of organisational Twitter accounts on Thursday August 20th as part of the annual ‘Teen Twitter Takeover’.
Created by Kids in Museums, this project helped museums in 2014 by putting young people’s voices at the heart of their museums, demonstrating trust and actively encouraging young people to feel an intrinsic and important part of museum life.
The event proved empowering for teenage visitors and volunteers and was a lot of fun too for all involved. You can find more details about the 2015 event on the Kids in Museums website
How do I get involved in Teen Twitter Takeover?
* Ask any young people connected with your museum or heritage site if they would like to be involved
Thursday 12th November 2015 in Wales
Friday 20th November for Takeover Day in England
*Email firstname.lastname@example.org to let them know your young people will be tweeting and they will join the conversation on the 20th August 2015.
