The Touring Exhibitions Group (TEG) is the national network for touring exhibitions. It is an independent membership organisation concerned with promoting and supporting touring exhibitions, on behalf of exhibition hirers and originators, as well as delivering research and training. Members include professionals from galleries, museums, libraries, art and science centres, as well as sector service providers.
TEG is committed to supporting the exchange of exhibitions as a means of sharing ideas, materials and resources, in the belief that touring extends public awareness, knowledge and enjoyment of historical and contemporary culture and you can now help TEG gain a snapshot of touring exhibitions practice by completing a survey.
“Participating in the Economics of Touring Exhibitions survey will ensure that your organisation has its say in the development of training and online resources to support museums and galleries in the UK to tour,” said Charlotte Dew, TEG Researcher. “The Touring Exhibitions Group (TEG) believes that touring is a key way to ensure the resilience of high-quality temporary exhibition programmes, that maximise economic, staff and other resources”
The Economics of Touring Exhibitions survey will help TEG understand:
*The economic and partnership models being used
*Motivations for touring
*The barriers and challenges that prevent some venues engaging in touring activity
The information provided will help TEG develop the Economics of Touring Exhibitions: Models for Practice professional development training and tool kit. You can complete the survey HERE
Museums, galleries, heritage sites and arts venues of all types are encouraged to participate. Whether you originate or hire touring exhibitions, or are interested to engage in touring in the future, TEG are keen to receive your feedback.
