Chiltern Open Air Museum is an independent museum with a collection of 33 re -erected historic buildings spanning 2000 years of Chiltern history. Currently the Museum attracts over 40,000 visitors a year, including around 12,000 school children.
The Museum has led several Heritage Lottery Fund and Arts Council funded projects over the last few years and has won several awards including Bronze in the VisitEngland Small Attraction of the Year category and another Sandford Award for Education in 2014.
The board of trustees is looking to expand and recruit new trustees with the following expertise:
*Professional museum experience to assist with museum development
*Fundraising to assist with priority revenue /capital fundraising
*Museum learning to help develop the very successful and expanding schools programme
*Building industry, including architects and surveyors to assist with capital projects
*Legal expertise to assist with governance
*Income generation to support operation costs
Number of meetings per annum/time commitment: Up to 8 per annum. Evening meetings on third Monday of alternate months plus a budget meeting and AGM
