Cut Tourism VAT campaign buoyed by parliamentary debate…

Leisure Management has reported a minor victory for the Cut Tourism VAT campaign group in the House of Commons.

On 12th February, 25 MPs participated in a parliamentary debate, many supporting the call to cut VAT on the tourism sector in the UK, to bring it more closely in line with rates of VAT on tourism in 24 other European countries, where rates are lower for key tourism services such as accommodation. The campaign group were delighted with the all-party support shown for their call, but noted that the minister remained unconvinced.
